Visit breweries in the Aire Valley, such as Saltaire Brewery with tours and The Goose Eye Brewery in Crossflatts Bingley, that are easily accessible by public transport and ideally located along the Leeds-Liverpool canal with excellent walking trails in between. Along the way, be sure to stop by Salts Mill and the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, two fantastic local attractions.
The Railway hosts one of the best Beer and Music Festivals in the north every October and also operate a number of dining trains that run on specific days and cater to a wide range of tastes.

Take a leisurely stroll through Bradford’s many art galleries during your cultural break in Bradford. At Cartwright Hall, Bradford-born artist David Hockney’s renowned pool scene ‘Le Plongeur,’ as well as much of his early work, is on display. In the city stop by Little Germany to see a nail-sculpted portrait of the man himself, as well as the Impressions Gallery, a bustling cultural place in City Park, for contemporary photography. The 1853 Gallery in Salts Mill, which is only a short distance away in Saltaire, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has one of the world’s largest collections of Hockney artworks and makes for a wonderful day trip.

Cycling is a terrific way to get around Bradford & district, so why not take a challenging active break while you’re here? Ride a stretch of the Tour De Yorkshire, which passes through Ilkley and Haworth, along with other places in the Yorkshire Dales.
