Ringing In The New Year | Sparkling Bradford

It’s time to bid farewell to 2021 and hello to 2022! Go out and try something new for New Year’s… Here are a few ideas on how to spend the last day of the year in Bradford & district to guarantee you have a fantastic time ringing in the new year.

Adventure in Nature

Take a deep breath of fresh air, step outside to admire the district in all its winter glory. You could go for a full-on hike across the moors to Top Withens to get an early start on your new year’s resolution to stay active. Take an urban walk around your green flag park, follow the Art in the Park trail around Lister Park, download and discover the Bradford Heritage Trail, or head to Ilkley to follow the augmented reality trail across the town before the jolly festive folk leave town for another year.

Awesome thought! Set your alarm and go somewhere special in Bradford to see the last sunset of 2021 or the first of 2022. It will be a special and lovely occasion!

See a Show

End the year on a high note by booking a ticket to this year’s pantomime at the Alhambra Theatre. Billy Pearce and the gang will keep you laughing until the curtains close. If you’re looking for some classic rock’n’roll, Nightrain will be hosting a Queen tribute. This show will have your toes tapping as you sing along to all of the iconic classics as another year bites the dust!

Take a Nostalgic Trip

Take a journey by rail on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, which will be presenting Mince Pie Specials in the New Year. The beautiful Brontë Country countryside will pass by your window while you travel in the toasty Yuletide carriage, enjoying a mince pie — what more could you ask for!

Dance All Night Long

If you love to to dance the night away till the clock strikes midnight, why not do so in style and book yourself into one of the fantastic ticketed evenings on offer at hotels around the district? The Great Victoria Hotel, The Craiglands and the Midland Hotel are all hosting lavish New Year’s Eve parties complete with delicious multi-course meals and fantastic music. They’ll be the spot to be to celebrate the end of the year!

Drink And Eat Locally

Celebrating at home? To kick off the evening, toast the New Year with delightfully local cuisine and drink. You can pick up plenty of fantastic ingredients and treats from Bradford Markets and the High Streets. Try something different, make some classic New Year’s dishes from around the world? From sweet German Marzipanschwein and Italian Panettone to spicy Indian Murgh Malai Kebabs, savoury pies made locally and Bigos, a hearty Polish stew, there’s something for everyone. Toast the New Year with a wonderful beer from your local brewery shop and enjoy some of the finest independent craft breweries from across the UK in style.
