Organist Thomas Moore To Play At Bradford Cathedral At Special Christmas Recital

The Christmas Gala Organ Recital takes place at 1pm on Wednesday 15th December.

Bradford Cathedral will be hosting a special one-off organ recital on Wednesday 15th December at 1pm, as part of its events and services during Advent and Christmas 2021.

The recital will be led by organist Thomas Moore, a former organ scholar of the cathedral who has had a distinguished career as a cathedral musician in West Yorkshire including, until recently, as Director of Music at Wakefield Cathedral.

Alexander Berry, Director of Music at Bradford Cathedral, says:
We are thrilled to welcome Thomas Moore back to Bradford Cathedral to give a very special Christmas organ recital.
His programme includes the Toccata on ‘Veni Emmanuel’ by York-based composer Andrew Carter, and Alexandre Guilmant’s fine Offertoires sur deux Noëls.

The organ recital takes place on Wednesday 15 December at 1pm. Entry is free, but donations are encouraged on a ‘pay as you feel’ basis as you leave.

The Christmas Gala Organ Recital is part of Bradford Cathedral’s festive programme. Other services and events taking place this December include a ‘Nine Lessons and Carols’ service on Sunday 19th December (which will also be streamed live); and a carol concert on Christmas Eve.
