People Who Make Bradford Sparkle | Yvonne Bryant

We’ve been looking for the People Who Make Bradford Sparkle – those people in our communities who have gone the extra mile to make us smile. We want to shine a spotlight on the individuals that have spread a sparkle of joy throughout the district this year.

Today we’re celebrating Yvonne Bryant owner of the Just 4 Paws store in Keighley Market. Just 4 Paws is famous for its excellent customer service, festive displays and commitment to its customers, both human, furry and feathered. This year, they’ve gone above and beyond to keep their customers connected and well fed. Yvonne has been nominated for her dedication to her customers and commitment to making the market sparkle.

Yvonne has been a feature of the market for the past 11 years. Just 4 Paws prides itself on providing pet food, supplies and treats for all domestic animals from dogs and cats, birds to rats and mice. Its customer service is second to none. As an essential business, the stall stayed open throughout both lockdowns stocking a wide range of pet products, with lots of choice and the value for money you would expect from a market stall.

While the store has always offered free home deliveries for its customers, this has become a lifeline during lockdown as some of its older, more vulnerable customers have been unable to make the trip into Keighley. Yvonne says they always try to fit in a delivery if they can, travelling across the Bradford district to support their loyal customers. Just 4 Paws even offers a specialist hydrotherapy service for dogs too!

Yvonne’s enthusiasm for her business is obvious from the stall itself, which is always well stocked and full of interesting items – at this time of year it’s full of pet treats and Christmas gifts for your furry friends. “We’re competing with the major pet food stores, so we try to make an effort”, said Yvonne “We’ve even managed to do a refurb over the lockdown period with new lights, so the stall is looking good.”

Known for their themed displays at Christmas, Halloween and Easter, Yvonne also uses these special occasions to raise money for charities such as Manorlands, Keighley Dementia and pet charities.

In what has been an incredibly tough year for retailers and market traders, Yvonne says “We were lucky and managed to keep going, we’ve been able to look after people and make the best of things. We’ve kept jolly and people have been smashing!”

Yvonne’s message for people across the district is “We want to see more people in here – Keighley’s a great market, with some fantastic local businesses with products and services you won’t find elsewhere. It’s safe, clean and very well looked after. We’ve been here to support you, so please come down and support us at Keighley Market.”

And it’s well worth a visit! Have a look at Sparkling Bradford’s recent video featuring some Keighley Market traders and the story of our district’s heroic high streets, told by the independent traders, market stall and shop owners who know it best.
