‘Shop local’ Bradford traders are ready to welcome customers back! Traders have been working hard in preparation for the big restart to meet the Covid-19 secure guidance, to ensure you can shop with confidence. Here you will find useful information, adjusting to the new normal.
Shoppers are being asked to adhere to the distancing rules, use contactless payment where possible and avoid public transport.
You must only visit shops with people you live with or, if applicable, people in your support bubble and you should practice social distancing from other people at all times. We ask all visitors to Bradford to respect the measures in place to help ensure Shopping in and around Bradford is an enjoyable, safe experience for everyone.

We can all help control the virus if we all stay alert. This means you must:
- stay at home as much as possible
- work from home if you can
- limit contact with other people
- keep your distance if you go out (2 metres apart where possible)
- wash your hands regularly
Do not leave home if you or anyone in your household has symptoms.
Please check websites of all organisations or businesses before you visit. With the current situation, many businesses are changing their opening hours.
Bradford City Centre
The Broadway Bradford
The Broadway Bradford is ready to welcome you back from Monday 15 June 9am to 6pm Monday- Saturday, 11am to 5pm Sunday.
Local market traders are gearing up to reopen from Monday 15 June following the government relaxing Covid-19 restrictions. Oastler Centre and Keighley Market traders selling non-essential goods, (excluding cafes and beauty salons) will open alongside essential fresh foods stalls which have remained open during the coronavirus outbreak. Kirkgate Market which has been closed since 23 March will also re-open. Social distancing measures including information signs, queuing aids and way finding materials will ensure the markets will meet government safety guidelines.
Kirkgate Centre Bradford
Re-opening stores on a gradual basis in line with government advice. Please find the latest store openings list. The Kirkgate Shopping Centre have implemented various rules and guidelines to keep the centre as clean and hygienic as possible.
Waterstones Bradford at the Wool Exchange (bookshop only) reopens, with a great books and safety measures in place. Opening hours will be 10am-5pm Monday to Saturday (and 11am-5pm on Sundays). Limiting the number of customers in store.
Alternatively, meet and support Bradford’s independent traders at the Facebook Bradford Online Street Market, every Thursday 9am-5pm.
Bombay Stores Department Store
Bombay Stores, ready made fashion, fabrics and haberdashery is reopening. All social distancing guidelines are in place. Amazing new summer stock and limited stock only, grab them before they go!
Ilkley Town Centre
One-way systems on public footpaths, and new signage are some of the measures being put in place as Ilkley Town Centre welcomes visitors back.

From Monday 29 June Bettys Ilkley reopens, offering a wide range of wrapped cakes, chocolates, biscuits, teas, coffees, and takeaway hot drinks. Maintain social distancing and follow the stay safe guidelines.
Look out for one way system on narrow village pavements as part of social distancing measures.
Mrs Beightons sweet shop on Haworth’s Main Street is open, with social distancing measures and one-way system in place. Top tip is to use the online for click and collect service.
Pretty Penny boutique home, fashion and gift shop is open for business and are offering a private shopping experience. We would recommend booking ahead of time to avoid being disappointed. Call us on 01535 640222.
The Cabinet of Curiosities, new opening hours will be 10.30 – 4.30 initially to be reviewed weekly. Restricting customer numbers in the shop, social distancing measures in place (in accordance with government guidelines).
Number 71, gift shop – Temporary opening times are 10.30-4.30 Monday & Saturday. Can accommodate up to 3 customers safely whilst observing social distancing. Contactless payments are preferable.

Airedale Shopping Centre Keighley
Highways on Social distancing measures and signs – they have set up a one way system on Bingley Road / Gordon Terrace, with extra crossing points for pedestrians. On the pedestrian bridge into Roberts Park, people are asked to keep left.
Giddy Arts, an independent refill shop, craft gallery – please check social media for the most up to date opening information.
RadStudio, gift shop not open just yet, check out the website for delivery / collection / post.
Abigayl Lily Floristry and tearoom in Shipley. The tearoom will be open 10am-3pm Monday – Saturday for collection of takeaway food and drinks. Florist open Monday – Saturday 9ish – 5ish for collection and delivery of Flowers and indoor/outdoor plants.
For Essentials & Takeaway On Bingley Road – Orange Grove Greengrocers and Fishmongers, Melvyn Davis bakers,Co-op, Buonissimo Delicatessen, Paul Binns Quality Meats, The Terrace French cuisine order and collect.

We are strongly urging people to consider whether their journey is necessary before using public transport and to consider cycling or walking as an alternative to public transport where possible.
From June 15, Government guidelines require people to wear a face covering on public transport with exemptions for the very young and those with disabilities or breathing difficulties.

National Express: Services are currently suspended, however, a new reduced timetable is scheduled to resume from Wednesday 01 July 2020
From Monday June 15 parking charges will be reinstated and warning notices issued for one week for non-compliance of pay and display related contraventions.
From June 22 Penalty Charge Notices will be issued for all contraventions including pay and display.

Some, but not all public toilets will be open in Bradford district. Ilkley Town Council have reopened the public toilets in the main Ilkley car park, and Riverside with Covid-19 measure in place. Haworth public toilets remain closed.
