John

John

Charlotte got in touch in October, saying she’d seen “the gentleman in a tweedy jacket smoking his pipe. His pipe was never very far from him. I used to pull pheasant feathers through the stem to clean it out. He and his wife Audrey were family friends and sold my parents their first house. John was born in 1911 in Clitheroe and died in 1979 near Blackpool/Lytham St Anne’s. John was a doctor’s son and was himself a mechanical engineer. John and Audrey married later in life (1962) and didn’t have children. They did have a border terrier called Titch and Uncle John had a Bentley at one time which caught fire.”
