The Brontë Parsonage reopens in February with new exhibition Anne Brontë: ‘Amid the brave and strong’. Anne’s life and work have had much less exploration than those of her sisters. This new exhibition will delve into key elements of Anne’s life, from her childhood at the Parsonage, to how her legacy has been shaped by others since her death.
Photographer Shy Burhan and Poet Sharena Lee Satti have joined forces to create an exhibition about body positivity. ‘Body Talk’ at Kala Sangam celebrates women’s stories and beauty, challenging us all to think and talk positively about our bodies.
Real Food Ilkley at South Hawksworth Street on Sunday February 2 (10am to 3pm) The open-air market celebrates the rich variety of locally produced food and drink.
Bradford Industrial Museum will hold a specialist wool market, to celebrate the patron saint of wool-combers. The St Blaise Wool Market will take place on Sunday February 3. There will also be food, a pop up pub, a choir and brass band and appearances from alpacas.
Bill Kenwright’s ‘Amazing’, ’Superb’, ‘Wonderful’ and ‘Brilliant’ production of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s sparkling family musical ‘Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ comes to the Alhambra Theatre 4-8 February.
Get gaming! the Yorkshire Games Festival at the National Science and Media Museum presents a weekend for videogamers of all ages, featuring a range of new games, interactive live shows and challenges, plus industry insight and careers advice from the British Esports Association. The Let’s Play family weekend on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 February takes place throughout the museum. Younger visitors can beta-test new developments from Northern developers, compete in an esports tournament and discover new games from CBBC.
