Golden Years Film Festival – 68 Year Old Grandma Runs 48 Miles Across 30 Peaks

As part of this years Golden Years Film Festival, Bradford UNESCO City of Film will be screening a short film (35mins) of the amazing achievement of Sandra Scott. At 68 years of age she attempted to run 48 miles over 30 peaks in the Lakes District’s greatest fell running feats, the Joss Naylor Challenge.

Sandra will be joining us for a Q&A session following the screening of her film ‘Beyond the Clouds’ to talk about her experience and how she has gone on to study a PHd researching endurance sport and older people.

David Wilson, Director of Bradford UNESCO City of Film said: This is an incredible story of determination and stamina for people of any age. The fact that Sandra completed this at the age of 68 is truly inspirational and makes such a great contribution to this years Golden Years Film Festival which celebrates active ageing. As this years theme is story telling, not only do we get to see the film but we get to hear Sandra’s story at the Q&A following the film.

The screening and Q&A will take place at City Hall, Bradford on Saturday 26th October at 15.00. Tickets are £5 and can be obtained here
