Insider Tips From Si!
Hangout spots…. “I love the parts of Bradford that offer a bit of peace and tranquility, so I tend to head to the beautiful Wool Exchange or the Rooftop Cafe inside Kala Sangam if I’m in town. Outside the city centre, you can’t beat an afternoon at Cartwright Hall or the walk from Saltaire to Ilkley over the moors for the most awesome views.”
LOVE Bradford because…. “The people are full of warmth and character, and you can probably say the same about our buildings too. I love it when someone visits who’s never been to Bradford before because they’re always so impressed by how good-looking the place is. Likewise, seeing City Park from a child’s perspective is lovely. They have no preconceptions about Bradford – they just see a big, beautiful water park where everyone gets together.”
For GREAT coffee…. “I think we’re a bit spoilt for choice in Bradford but Bread & Roses on North Parade is really nice and it’s very family friendly. I recently had the most amazing sandwich at The Canteen on Cheapside, which is a brilliant training cafe opposite the Midland Hotel. Outside town, Tambourine in Saltaire must be one of the best coffee places in West Yorkshire and it’s always got a really nice vibe.”
Foodelicious…. “I could eat pizza three times a day so I’m lucky that we’ve got both Pizza Pieces on Market Street (a proper Bradford institution) and Pizza Loco In Sunbridge Wells for the best ‘Nduja pizza I’ve ever had.”
Beer!…. “I really like the Corn Dolly on Bolton Road for a quiet pint or The Record Café on North Parade for something a bit special.”
