Treat your Mum on Sunday 31 March 2019 with a Mother’s Day trip to one of our special places or events over the weekend.

See the first colours of spring!  Take a stroll around Lister Park to view sculpture and public artwork.  See Bingley based artist Marcus Levine’s steel clout nail sculpture ‘Hung Out to Dry’ and family favourite, fibreglass ‘Hochlandbew’ by Otmar Alt.

Make memories together on a guided walk (Sunday 31 March) meet Barbara Walker at 10.30am at Silsden car park, Wesley Place off Kirkgate for plenty of stiles, a short stretch of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal and some lovely hamlets.

Treat mum to a nostalgic ride on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway   Step back in time on the Railway Children’s Railway in the heart of Brontë Country. Immerse yourself in the history of the railways and experience a really big, noisy adventure. Visit one of the greatest working steam railways and enjoy a steam filled action-packed day out for all the family!

Dance the night away with mum at NT East Riddlesden Hall, Ceilidh barn dance (Friday 29 March) enjoy a variety of traditional English, Scottish, Irish and American music.  Expect a fun evening of lively, energetic, music guaranteed to have you on the dance-floor.

Brush up on a bit of culture this Mother’s Day, check out our pick of the city’s best cultural offerings at Bradford Museums & Galleries.  Visit Cartwright Hall ‘The David Hockney Gallery’ a rare and intimate glimpse into Hockney’s personal life.  Images show day trips with his family, snaps at his childhood home in Bradford and the artist’s beloved dogs at his home in LA.

Time to spruce up the spring wardrobe at Victoria Hall,  Saltaire Vintage Home & Fashion Fair on (Saturday 30 March).  Treat your mum to a vintage day out with cakes and original vintage retail therapy.
