On Thursday 08 November at 7.30pm, three of Bradford’s major arts organisations come together to present Bradford Scratch, a work in progress evening that gives audiences the chance to see some of the amazing art that’s created in Bradford.
Every year Kala Sangam, Mind the Gap and Theatre in the Mill support a large number of artists to create high quality, innovative and entertaining new work. Bradford Scratch will feature a selection of performances that have been created through this support.
Kala Sangam’s Creative Director Alex Croft said:
“There’s so much amazing work that’s created each and every year here in the city that we felt we needed to find a way to let people into the studio to see it for themselves! Like us, both Mind the Gap and Theatre in the Mill do amazing work supporting artists, but it’s all quite different so I think between us we’re going to put on a really entertaining, varied evening of performances.”
Based in Manningham, Mind The Gap work in partnership with learning-disabled artists to deliver a bold, cutting-edge and world-class artistic programme. From their home on the University of Bradford campus, Theatre in the Mill offers broad ranging support and opportunities for innovative artists to make new work, through mentoring, peer support and critique, business advice, residencies and commissions. Focusing on music and dance, Kala Sangam offers space and support to artists with a particular focus on creating work which reflects contemporary, multicultural Britain.
Don’t miss the chance to see a fantastic range of artists and performers and find out why Bradford is considered one of the best places to make work in the country.
