Bingley Walking Festival

Bingley Walkers are Welcome are very pleased to announce their first one day Walking Festival to be held on Bank Holiday Monday May 1st.

There will be four walks on offer starting from different venues and at different times.
  • Bingley Five Rise Locks Family Walk, this 2 hours circular walk should keep everyone in the family happy as there are so many things to see and do along the way; like feed the ducks, explore the locks and watch the wildlife.
  • Canal History Walk, this linear 3 mile walk starts at the Five Rise Cafe walking to 7 Arches viaduct looking into the features and history of this historic part of the canal returning to the market square.
  • Sir Fred Hoyle Walk, This six miles starts in Bingley town centre and follows the canal and river and rises via the Coach Road and Milner Field to Primrose Lane. We see the house that was Fred Hoyle’s birthplace and return to Bingley via Gilstead Moor and Three and Five Rise Locks.
  • Beckfoot & Cottingley Walk, join Sue and Arthur for a 5 mile circular walk round Beckfoot and Cottingley, crossing the golf course, taking in Beckfoot Bridge and parts of Cottingley village.
